Surfing Life was founded in 1992 by local surfer John Fordy. From it's humble beginnings in a one floor shop at the lower end of Plymouth, Surfing Life has grown from strength to strength and still relies on the same ethics it started with. The idea was to provide the area with the best in hardware, apparel and service. Since it's initial beginnings, the main Surfing Life shop has now moved further into the heart of Plymouth City Centre and has expanded to two floors and has a total of three sections catering for mens, ladies and hardware. In the shop, the roots of the business are firmly planted in the hardware section. With over 150 brand new boards that cover everything from performance shortboards to longboards, beginner boards, groms boards, retro boards, funboards, fish or bodyboards. Coupled with the massive range of wetsuits and hardware accessories, it is clear that Surfing Life is here because of the love of the sport. Downstairs sees the latest in surf fashion and the friendly staff are always going out of there way to ensure the customer is satisfied and enjoys their shopping experience. The Surfing Life company has since expanded past it's one shop beginnings and onto bigger and better things. They have become active in the Quiksilver Boardriders venture and have renovated and revamped The Boarding House hotel overlooking the world famous Fistral Beach in Newquay. From here the Quiksilver Surf School runs. Whilst always expanding to offer the market the best service and products possible, Surfing Life still remains active in local events. Sponsoring days such as The South Coast challenge which is part of The British Professional Surf Association tour and less serious events such as the Paddle around the Mewstone which is held at Wembury beach in Devon.
